This 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time, the Gospel of Matthew (18:21-22) places Peter's question at the heart of our faith: how often must we forgive? Jesus answers with radical, unmeasured mercy — not seven times, but seventy-seven times. We are called to forgive because we ourselves have been forgiven. As Father Skip reminds us, forgiveness does not make us weak; it makes us free. This week also honors Our Lady of La Salette, whose 180th anniversary of apparition invites us to deeper conversion and reconciliation with God.

La vida cristiana, entonces, es un vínculo frágil pero santificador—un santo "yugo" que une nuestras vidas a Cristo y, por medio de Él, unos a otros. Estamos invitados a llevar las cargas unos de otros, perdonarnos unos a otros, corregirnos con caridad, orar unos por otros y nunca olvidar que la persona que puede resultarnos más difícil de amar sigue siendo nuestro hermano o hermana en Cristo.

The Christian life, then, is a fragile yet sanctifying bond—a holy "yoking" of our lives to Christ and, through Him, to one another. We are invited to carry one another, forgive one another, correct one another with charity, pray for one another, and never forget that the person who may be most difficult for us to love is still our brother or sister in Christ.

On the 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time, Jesus offers His disciples a clear path of fraternal reconciliation: go privately to the one who has wronged you, listen, seek understanding, and if needed, bring the community of faith into the healing. St. Paul anchors this teaching in love: 'Love is the fulfillment of the law' (Rom 13:10). As Blessed Trinity approaches the 180th anniversary of the La Salette apparition — Our Lady, Reconciler of Sinners — parishioners are invited to embrace that same mission: turn back to God, and help others find their way to Him.

Quizás sea un poco temprano para contar todas las conversaciones, nuevas amistades, inscripciones y frutos que surgirán de este maravilloso fin de semana. Pero tal vez eso no sea lo más importante que debemos contar. Recordamos las palabras de Nuestro Señor en el Evangelio: "Denles ustedes de comer." Jesús no les dijo a sus discípulos que contaran a la multitud; los invitó a servir a las personas que tenían delante.

It may be a little early to count all the conversations, new friendships, sign-ups, and results that will come from this wonderful weekend. But perhaps that is not the most important thing to count. We remember the words of Our Lord in the Gospel: "Give them some food yourselves." Jesus did not tell His disciples to count the crowd; He invited them to serve the people before them. And that is precisely what we saw at Blessed Trinity: people willing to share what they have, offer what they can, and serve with generous hearts.

On this 22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time, the Gospel of Matthew 16:21-27 calls every disciple to a radical yes: deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Jesus. This is not a call to hardship for its own sake, but an invitation into the very life of Christ — where surrendering our own plans makes room for God's saving grace. As St. Augustine reminds us, our hearts are restless until they rest in Him. This week Blessed Trinity also commemorates the 180th Anniversary of Our Lady of La Salette, whose message of conversion continues to guide our parish family.

Con frecuencia siento que el Señor me hace la misma pregunta: "¿Quién dices tú que soy yo?" ¿Es Él realmente lo más importante en mi vida? ¿Es Él en quien fundamento todas mis demás decisiones? O, más bien, ¿solo me concentro en Él cuando me resulta conveniente o cómodo? El mundo de hoy está lleno de opciones que fácilmente pueden convertirse en nuestros ídolos. Podemos preguntarnos: ¿Es aquello que adoramos la búsqueda del dinero, del poder o del dominio sobre los demás? ¿Perdemos tiempo desplazándonos continuamente en nuestros teléfonos, en lugar de permitirnos ser conscientes de la presencia de Dios? ¿Vemos a Cristo en aquellos que tienen necesidad? Por medio de nuestra vida, ¿quién decimos que es el Señor?

I often sense the Lord asking me the question, "Who do you say that I am?" Is He really the most important thing in my life? Is He the one on whom I base all my other decisions? Or rather, do I only focus on Him when it is convenient or comfortable? Today's world is full of choices that can easily become our idols. We can ask ourselves is what we worship the pursuit of money or power or dominance over other people? Do we waste time scrolling on our phones instead of allowing ourselves to become aware of the presence of God? Do we see Christ in those in need? By our lives, who do we say that the Lord is?

This 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time, the Church proclaims Matthew 16:13-20 — the Confession of Saint Peter at Caesarea Philippi. Jesus asks his disciples the question that echoes across every age: 'Who do you say that I am?' Peter's bold declaration, 'You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God,' becomes the foundation upon which Christ builds his Church. Deacon Darrell Buono invites parishioners to let this question penetrate their daily examen — not merely as words professed, but as a life lived in faithful witness to the one, definitive Lord.

Quizás este Evangelio nos invita a preguntarnos: • ¿Quién es la persona o el grupo que me cuesta mirar con compasión? • ¿Qué herida antigua o resentimiento histórico continúa influyendo en mi manera de juzgar a los demás • ¿Dónde podría Dios estar invitándome a pasar de la desconfianza a la comprensión, del juicio a la misericordia y de la división a la reconciliación?

Sometimes a change of heart begins simply by listening. Sometimes healing begins when we are willing to encounter the other person rather than merely holding an opinion about them. Sometimes reconciliation requires humility—the grace to acknowledge our own assumptions, prejudices, or part in a conflict. And sometimes mission means being willing to cross a boundary we have always assumed should remain in place.

On this 20th Sunday in Ordinary Time, the Gospel of Matthew 15:21-28 presents the Canaanite woman whose persistent, boundary-crossing faith moves Jesus to proclaim, 'O woman, great is your faith!' Her courage challenges us to examine our own prejudices and trust in God's expansive mercy. Isaiah's vision — 'My house shall be a house of prayer for all peoples' — reminds Blessed Trinity that God's salvation transcends every human division, calling us to reconciliation and mission in our diverse Orlando community.

El Evangelio de este domingo nos revela otro don extraordinario de nuestro Salvador. Jesús nunca abandona a quienes le pertenecen. Especialmente en momentos de incertidumbre, dificultad, decepción, temor y peligro, Él viene a nuestro encuentro. Los discípulos lucharon contra el viento y las olas durante toda la noche, convencidos de que estaban solos. Sin embargo, precisamente en el momento oportuno, Jesús se acercó a ellos caminando sobre el mar, no con pánico ni prisa, sino con serena autoridad, compasión divina y amor reconfortante.

Last Sunday we reflected upon the Lord's command, "Give them some food yourselves." Jesus challenged His disciples—and us—to recognize the gifts He has placed within us and to respond generously to the needs of others. Whether in our families, workplaces, schools, neighborhoods, or parish community, He calls us to become His witnesses and servant-disciples.

Blessed Trinity Catholic Church gathers this week under the reassuring words of Christ: 'Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.' Served by the Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette, our parish is centered in Jesus Christ and nurtured by the Eucharist. This is a rich week of liturgy, formation, and community as we celebrate Ordinary Time and prepare for the Solemnity of the Assumption.

Cristo toma aquello que parece tan poco, lo bendice, lo multiplica y lo pone al servicio de su Reino. El milagro continúa sucediendo hoy cada vez que los discípulos se niegan a despedir a las personas con las manos vacías y, en cambio, se convierten en instrumentos del amor compasivo y generoso de Dios.

Christ takes what seems so little, blesses it, multiplies it, and places it in the service of His Kingdom. The miracle still happens today whenever disciples refuse to send people away empty and instead become instruments of God's compassionate love and generosity.

This 18th Sunday in Ordinary Time, the Gospel of Matthew (14:13-21) invites us into the miracle of the loaves and fishes — not merely as a feeding of thousands, but as a revelation of the Eucharist itself. Jesus takes, blesses, breaks, and shares: the very pattern of every Mass. Isaiah echoes the same boundless generosity: 'Come to the water… without cost.' St. Paul assures us nothing can separate us from God's love. We are called, blessed, and sent to become the Body of Christ for others.
