Advent Joy – Stay Awake, Be Ready
Fr. Skip invites the parish to begin Advent as a season of spiritual awakening rather than repetition. Advent centers our lives on God’s saving work, calling us to prepare not only for the birth of Christ at Christmas but also for His coming in glory. Drawing from Scripture and lived experience, he challenges parishioners to examine what burdens slow their spiritual journey and to let go of fear, resentment, and excess. Advent is a time to stay awake, seek God in unexpected places, and allow hope, watchfulness, and renewal to shape our lives as individuals and as a parish family.
The parish enters a joyful and busy Advent season with Faith Formation, Life Teen, music rehearsals, and parish ministries in full motion. Highlights include the Our Lady of Guadalupe Novena (Dec 3–11), directory photo sessions, Edge gatherings, Prayer & Life workshops, and parish service projects. Advent preparations lead the community toward Christmas with devotion, hospitality, and shared celebration.
Daily Mass continues Monday through Saturday at 8:30 a.m., with the regular weekend schedule in place. Confessions are available after daily Mass, Saturday afternoon, and Sunday morning in Spanish. The parish lifts up Mass intentions for deceased loved ones and for the needs of parishioners, uniting prayer with the rhythm of the Advent season.
Prayer remains at the heart of parish life. The Rosary is prayed daily, with bilingual opportunities on Sundays. The Divine Mercy Chaplet is offered each morning and in Spanish on Sundays, and Eucharistic Adoration with Benediction takes place every Friday morning. These devotions ground the parish in prayerful watchfulness during Advent.
Faith Formation continues for children, youth, and families, alongside Life Teen, Edge, Confirmation preparation, and OCIA sessions for adults discerning full initiation into the Church. Parish ministries remain active, inviting all to deepen their faith through formation, service, and fellowship.
Advent preparations are underway throughout the parish. Upcoming celebrations include the Immaculate Conception (Dec 8), Our Lady of Guadalupe Feast (Dec 12), CCW Christmas Tea, Simbang Gabi, Christmas pageants, and outreach efforts for those in need. Parishioners are also invited to assist with decorating the church as a shared act of stewardship and joy.
The generosity of the Blessed Trinity community continues to be a powerful witness of faith and gratitude.
